Fifteen thousand Quinnat salmon averaging 80 grams have been released into West Coast lakes. Hand-sized fish were released into Lakes Haupiri, Kaniere, Ianthe and Mapourika.

15,000 Quinnat Salmon averaging 80 grams have been released into West Coast lakes. Hand sized fish were released into Lakes Haupiri, Kaniere, Ianthe and Mapourika. Fish released last year as part of this same program are being caught this season and average around 2-3 pound in weight.

Another load of Rainbow Trout have been transferred form Montrose to Lake Kaniere. Approximately 1000, 60g fingerlings were released last week bringing the total this summer to over 2000 fish.
